What Is Bounce Rate?

According to Wikipedia, bounce rate is an internet marketing term used is web traffic analysis. Bounce rate represent the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave and that's the idea of a bounce rate.  Bounce rate is calculated by counting the number of single page visits and deciding that by the total visits.

Meaning if you want to have a low bounce rate on your blog, we need to find a way how we can make our visitors stay longer browsing on our blog pages,  here are the things you need to know to help you decrease your bounce rate.

How To Get Low Bounce Rate For Your Blog

Long Blog Post

In this blog I got long and short blog post depending on the topic, and base on my observation I made my readers stay longer on a longer blog post. Meaning if you have short content for example 300 words,  more or less your readers can finish reading it within 60 seconds and as result you will get high bounce rate.

If you are asking how much is the right word count for every content that will get good bounce rate,  I advice that you maintain making your blog post a minimum of 800 words and it's up to you what will be your maximum word count for your blog post and it maybe 1500 or 2500 and etc.

Include Videos

Have you tried adding videos on your every blog post?  Did you know that videos can help you make your visitors stay longer on your page. Have you able to visit a blog post that has a video in it? Have you observe that because of  the video you wish to finish the video in order to understand a blog post? That's the point of putting a video on a blog post, you are able to hypnotize your readers for a few minutes to stay and you also give google the signal that your page is valuable to your readers.

Avoid Using Pop-ups

If you got pop-up ads on your blog or using an email marketing pop-up you better stop using it because you are annoying your readers to focus on your content.  Also one reason you need to avoid using pop-up because it also slows your site that will be not be good to your user experience, pop-ups are really annoying so you better stop using them starting today.

Keep Your Blog Faster

When you have faster website,  you are not just giving a good user experience to your readers,  you are also giving google a signal to rank your pages higher. I remember when I visited a very slow website,  I eventually click back button on my browser because I don't want to waste my minutes on a slow website,  if I do that,  it's not impossible others will do it too and that's not good signal for google.

Internal Linking

Internal linking is a practice where you are referring people to read your other post across your website and that's called internal linking. By referring your other blog post on the page where your readers are reading,  you are creating an opportunity not to leave your website quickly because the goal here is to let google get the signal that people are staying on your website and reading more of your post that will help you get more ranking score.

Include Story Telling To Your Blog Post.

When people go to Google, it's obvious that people are after to your content to learn more information on a certain topic. If you don't know how to start a story then you must start learning how to do it, you can start a story telling by including your experiences or experiences of other people that you witness and relate it with the topic on your blog post, because blog posts gets more interesting when things are getting more in details.
